Deciding on which part of the industry you’d like to work in is one thing, but knowing where to find relevant and inspiring workplaces is another. And with so many creative companies across the UK, expanding your knowledge of who’s out there can certainly give you a leg up. So every few weeks, we’ll be helping you discover new studios, agencies, and more by highlighting a range of them up and down the British Isles. This week, we’re heading to a city famous for its rich cultural heritage – Liverpool!
Famous for its music scene, culture, maritime history, and football teams, the city of Liverpool has long been a cultural hub in the UK. Time Out recently ranked Liverpool as the 7th best city to visit in the world – and today they proudly have one of the largest economies in the UK and offer a wide array of creative opportunities for established professionals and emerging talent.
Home to over 7,000 creative and digital firms, Liverpool’s creative, digital and technology ecosystem has doubled in size since 2012, and is expected to see a further 10% growth within the next four years. Areas like the Knowledge Quarter demonstrate the city's investment in media, culture and beyond, alongside the impressive array of cultural organisations like Tate Liverpool, the Walker Art Gallery, and FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology).
Physical spaces like Baltic Creative have also emerged to support and connect the city’s creative community, with companies thriving across various disciplines, from graphic design and advertising to digital media and gaming.
