Life never stops teaching, right? With the new academic year approaching, being the indecisive and overthinking person that I am, I was very confused with some decisions to make for the coming year. While having a conversation with one of my friends, I jokingly mentioned that, →"I am too young to make such life decisions hahaha"And my friend validated me saying, "fair enough to some extent!"However later, I thought that it could be a fact too! Don't you think so?→ I say that because life never comes with guidelines, we don't know what'll work in our favour, and what's the best thing for us at times! We are constantly learning, analysing and realising. We are never too old for lessons, life always keeps us teaching like we're a kid because that's the whole aim of life- to learn and grow at every single phase!→ And I believe that we shouldn't even stop learning, because as rightly said that the day we stop learning is the day we stop growing! So yes, let's be young forever and learn from every decision, mistake and experience!

My first year of degree college was really a special one to me, you know why?➡️ Major reason being I learnt some very valuable lessons along the journey which I'll carry with me forever! As I step into the new academic year in just a few days, I reflected on my previous academic year with gratitude for the lessons learnt, opportunities received and also the best moments of my college life! Here are my top five lessons:🔹 Sometimes things don't go as planned for the better. I had to make many changes in my plans which I had been working on for a while and was quite disappointed initially but this year made me realise that sometimes, the universe doesn't support your plans because it has better plans for you!🔹You don't need to have it all figured out all at once. New academic year came with it's own set of fears and anxieties for me and I wanted answers to all my questions right away. However, I realised that life is all about going with the flow at times, and trusting the process because eventually you'll figure it out at the right time so you don't need to stress on everything!🔹Seize the opportunity and see how your life changes! Don't miss out on valuable opportunities due to fear and self-doubt, just give it a shot because it may become one of the best decisions of your life! Growth happens when you get out of your comfort zone.🔹 Finding the right people in college can be so helpful for your growth. Having friends who support you and hype you up makes a huge difference!🔹 Patience is the key. We all talk about consistency, hard-work, etc. when we want to achieve goals but why does anyone not talk about how patience is so important to achieve any goal? I believe that patience plays a very important role!I'm so grateful for all the situations and people around me who made my first year, so valuable! So what were your life lessons that college life gave you? Would love to hear your stories!P.S. - a throwback picture with my team at Mystique (my college's biggest intercollegiate cultural fest), which was also one of my most favourite and cherished memories from this year!

I received much-needed advice!Last Sunday, I attended a seminar on MBA in India and Abroad with the aim of achieving clarity on my dreams and my path to this journey. I would like to extend my gratitude to Jamboree Education Private Limited for organizing such an insightful seminar. The seminar helped us connect with the representatives of top B-schools within India, like Indian School of Business, as well as abroad like the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. The diverse range of colleges helped us gain an understanding about master's programs and MBA opportunities across the globe, helping us gain knowledge on various aspects such as country life, academic structures, admission processes, and more. I believe this seminar broadened my horizons and clarified the opportunities available globally. It will also prove to be immensely helpful in making right and informed decisions in future.➡️My key takeaway, which I consider to be the most valuable advice I've received, is this:♦️One of the representatives said, "Reflect on yourself, think about your journey."And honestly, this advice is so important as it simplifies all other decisions we make. It not just helps us to understand ourselves but also leads us to a life we would love to live. In terms of the admission process, self-reflection enables us to perform our best during interviews, write compelling essays, and more, as it involves continuous learning about ourselves. So, tell me, what's the one thing you've reflected on about yourself lately?

I was awestruck by this one line..The other day, I was cleaning my bookshelf and I found my election speech for the school council which was written years ago!And I was awestruck by this one line which is a very meaningful quote (whose origin, I'm unable to trace exactly right now) that was added in my speech! The quote is stated as: "Leadership is not about shining, it is about helping others shine."It is such a simple yet such a powerful quote which is absolutely timeless because I believe that's all what leadership is about, right?

“To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world.” - a well known Chinese proverb.I'm thrilled to announce that I've successfully completed a 30-hour certificate course in Spanish learning a few weeks back. This course consisted of all the fundamentals of Spanish, which enabled me to construct basic sentences and also helped me to converse on simple topics. Beyond this, I also realised that learning a foreign language expands the horizon of knowledge rather than just mere language acquisition. In addition to learning Spanish, I gained the following insights.➡️ Countries that have communities speaking Spanish.➡️ The diverse cultures of Spanish- speaking communities.➡️The intricacies of daily language usage and face-to-face interactions (how people address, greet, etc.) in various countries.➡️The variations in Spanish dialects across different countries. This was indeed a very knowledgeable experience, and this journey has been very exciting for me. It truly opened a new window for me to look at the world. I aspire to learn more of this language and gain more knowledge about it. Moreover, it has also ignited a deeper interest in me to explore more foreign languages. I would like to extend my gratitude towards & International Programmes Committee for providing me with this enriching opportunity. Special thank you to Ananga Manjari Malatesta Gonzalez , Dr. Pooja Ramchandani and Dr. Chandani Bhattacharjee since without them, this course wouldn't have been possible. To anyone willing to learn a new foreign language, I'd suggest you to please do it since I believe learning a new foreign language is so much more than language acquisition, it equips you with immense knowledge about the world enabling you to look at the world in various new perspectives! So, which foreign language do you wish to learn? And if you've learnt any, which one is it and what interesting insight have you gained while learning it?

This advice made me do it..Though I always desired to learn a foreign language, I must confess that I hadn't really put much effort in that direction. However, this year, I had decided to take action towards this goal. So when I received an opportunity, I asked my sister Kamya Makhija, my trusted mentor and advisor, seeking her opinion on whether I should embark on the journey of learning Spanish. Her response was: "Of course, learning any language is golden" and I am so glad that I took that advice.Fast forward several weeks since that conversation, and I've completed my 30 hour course on learning Spanish and this journey has been truly remarkable! I'll speak in detail about my experience in the subsequent post, but for now, I'd just want to say that if you too are willing to learn a new language then just go ahead because I assure you that you won't regret it!#learning #foreignlanguage

Have you ever pondered how many opportunities slip by because of fear?Whether it's something as minor as trying out a new cuisine, we tend to avoid it just because we are apprehensive that it might not be worth it and we'd not enjoy it. Or something as significant as making a career decision of studying abroad, we fear that we'll not able to handle it and it'll be challenging! The fear might be genuine but you have no clue about how you end up missing the best things because of this fear. You might love that new cuisine so much, that it'll end up being your favourite and that career decision might transform your life into your dream life if you dare to take up that tough choice!Life is all about taking risks, facing our fears and not giving up!I share this insight from personal experience, as I've been actively challenging my fears to push beyond my comfort zone.A small instance where I confronted my fear was when I began to post on LinkedIn. I love writing (we will talk about my passion for writing sometime else) but yet I feared to post on LinkedIn for some reason! However since the time I uploaded my first post about an industrial visit experience, I realized the power and potential of LinkedIn. I'm still acquainting myself with this platform and its functionality. I am fascinated by its features and after reading numerous posts regarding personal branding, how to commence writing here, etc. I decided to give it a chance, though I have already faced most of my fear by posting my experiences thrice but I do aspire to write a lot more- about my thoughts, experiences, insights, learnings, and much more! So here's to taking up this challenge, hoping it'd be my best decision!#newbeginnings #mylinkedinjourney

Delighted to share that I've successfully completed the 'Social Media Content Creation: Canva Beginner to Advanced' course on Udemy. Before starting the course, my knowledge of Canva was limited but this course has given me a complete guide on its functionality and uses. I gained valuable insights into content creation for various social media platforms for marketing, building a strong brand and creating an online presence in the most innovative ways. Exploring beyond the basic lessons, I also acquired skills on creating sharable GIFs, e-books, presentations, mock-ups, business cards, websites, animated email signatures, etc. It also introduced me to various external tools which can help to amplify the designs and simplify the content creation process. As a marketing student and with the growing impact of social media with respect to brand building and promoting your business online, I believe this course has proven to be truly helpful for me! I would like to extend my gratitude to the instructor of this course, Maggie Stara who made this learning process very exciting and easy to understand.Currently, I am applying the knowledge gained from this course in my role as social media manager intern.I can't wait to learn more as I experiment and seize more opportunities in this domain in future!

Albert Einstein once quoted, "Creativity is intelligence having fun". As I embark on this new journey of content creation and acquiring new skills, I couldn't agree more with this! So far my journey has been all about exploring, discovering new possibilities of designing and most importantly learning as I expand my knowledge in this domain. I definitely feel that it's a very joyous process for me since I am so fascinated by some very cool aspects and it leaves me in surprise each time I try to experiment. So as I complete one of my last few lessons of the Udemy course 'Social Media Content Creation: Canva Beginner to Advanced', I'd like to showcase one of my favourite content pieces which I learnt to create from Maggie Stara. Grateful for your lovely lessons, it is truly of great help and thank you for adding this cool lesson to the course Maggie Stara!I will post a detailed experience about this course once I am done with it completely.
