Simply put, we’re grateful for Wisconsin hospitals and health systems and their dedication to high-quality, affordable and accessible health care:🏆 High quality, high value care |Wisconsin has the 4th-most five-star-rated hospitals in the country.💙 Strong safety net | Wisconsin hospitals and health systems provide care to all patients who walk through their doors, regardless of their ability to pay. Additionally, in FY 2022, Wisconsin hospitals provided over $2 billion in community benefits and charity care to their communities.🚑 Proven commitment and reliability | Wisconsin hospitals receive more than two million emergency room visits every year, providing life-saving care to friends, neighbors and loved ones requiring urgent medical attention. Through the good times and the bad, Wisconsin hospitals answer the call.🩺 Strong workforce|A broad distribution of hospitals in Wisconsin not only helps the state’s residents access high-quality health care, it also serves as an important local economic resource to surrounding communities. Wisconsin hospitals employ more than 110,000 people, with even more working in other care settings, like clinics.#wihospitals #grateful

Delivering high quality family medicine is like gardening in Texas. The odds are so stacked against it that you celebrate every day it’s still around. This is not my first rodeo. I’ve been celebrating for 38 years. Y’all remember when I told you primary care is hard?Well, you better hang on tight cuz that bronco hasn’t even bucked yet. The shortage of primary care physicians is blowing hard across America like a dust storm. Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, and Amazon want to till this soil? Grab a shovel. But keep in mind that primary care is about lifetime commitments. We don’t stop doing this job because of bad fees… that’s all we get. We don’t quit because of a little disrespect… that only hurts if you let it. Time required? This is like a farm, it’s 24/7 round here. There’s a lot of good reasons that most folks can’t be farmers, and twice that many reasons that most companies shouldn’t dabble in primary care. #healthcare #AAFP #TAFP #physicians #healthcarecosts

Why did Walmart join CVS and Amazon as companies failing in the primary care space? I don't think I could say it better than Guy Culpepper, MD. This stuff is . . .HARD. Like farming👨🌾 🐄 🥕 It's arrogant of these corporate entities, to treat healthcare like any other business they can conquer by pouring in loads of money. Healthcare is about the patient - physician relationship.Unless you have physician leaders like Dr. Culpepper who build teams and infrastructure to nurture this relationship, then good luck 🍀 Healthcare does not fit on your spreadsheet.Physicians are not widgets.Patients are not profit centers.Walmart - stick with selling garden hosesLeave the farming to Dr. Culpepper and the Jefferson Physician Group.#primarycare #physicians #healthcare

💸🏨 HOSPITAL WARS: SCOOPING UP LANDS 🏨💸Hospitals are looking to expand into growing demographic areas with a good payor mix. A case last year put this competition squarely in the spotlight. That's when Phoenix-based Banner Health, the state's largest health system and among the largest in the nation, wanted to build a 48-acre hospital campus in Scottsdale, which has long been Scottsdale-based HonorHealth's service area. In November, when Banner Health's CFO Dennis Laraway went to secure that parcel in an Arizona State Land Department auction, Todd LaPorte, CEO of HonorHealth, was there to stop him. The minimum bid of $56.95 million quicklyescalated up to $84 million, with HonorHealth's LaPorte emerging as the winning bidder.HonorHealth didn't bid on the north Scottsdale land at the northeast corner of Hayden Road and Loop 101, though, with the intent of building a hospital there. It was to prevent Banner Health from doing so.#turfwars #healthcare #marketshare #hospital #ericcook

But what if we consider it a Right???Aren't we then in an NHS world? How many Americans would be running around screaming SOCIALISM, SOCIALISM. Funny how many Americans think of helping each other as a bad idea- but that's the reality. So, those are the options in the U.S., SOCIALISM vs Stepping over the bodies? Positioned right in the middle of this argument is the Public Utility Model. Until some of the systems were politically corrupted in the 1970's, this model worked great for electricity and a host of other community concerns and vital public needs. It works here too. In fact, once I changed the typical administrative structure in a PU, and developed the sustainable financing model, this design takes healthcare right down to the street level in EVERY community.Imagine- no more insurance needed, no copays, no deductibles, no more bankruptcies! We ALL pay, but a LOT less than we are now and we get a truly integrated health system

We actively encourage patients, carers, and families to engage with your matron as a point of contact for when you want to talk about things that have gone well, and about any issues you may have spotted during your stay that could be improved. We would encourage you in the first instance to discuss this on the ward when visiting or phoning, and ask to speak with the ward manager or matron – this helps to identify things early. However, if you rather have a dedicated time to talk to the matron, or you have reflected on your stay after leaving the hospital, we can help you do just that. How #MeetTheMatron could be of help to you -If you feel that talking to a matron face to face (online at present) is for you, rather than communicating over email or the phone, please fill out the information form below which will help us put you in contact with the correct matron. Please detail as much of what you would like to discuss as you can. Things you might want to talk to your matron about:“I want to give praise or positive feedback for a recent stay” - this could be about an individual, a team, or a general comment about the service you received. We want to hear about this as much as possible. We also have our ‘Say Thank You’ scheme where our staff will receive a thank you card.“I noticed something that would be worth feeding back to the teams on the ward” – this could be when you see something that would have improved a part of your experience or helped you understand what was happening during your stay“I am not happy with something, I need to speak to somebody” – this could relate to a specific experience or something that is directly affecting your care in the hospital. Please tell us.Find out more at https://lnkd.in/ewGyjnAB#Healthcare #Feedback #Improvement
